Hi, my name is Linda. I am a retired secondary school teacher specialising in teaching Food, Textiles and Child Development as well as being a proud mum and nanny.

It was over three years ago that I was drawn into the Making Miracles shop in Maidstone by its colourful display of craft items and, whilst browsing, was asked if I was interested in volunteering. I now work in this lovely shop alongside an amazing team of volunteers and I am delighted to have been invited to join the Board of Trustees. My role is to maintain contact with some of invaluable knit and natter groups and hopefully find more groups who can support us. In addition I will be making use of the back room at the shop as a meeting place where people can learn new craft skills as well as provide an opportunity for them to meet up with others, as we recognise the importance of social contact for our well being. All our volunteers, both the crafters and the shop staff are vital for this charity and I feel privileged to be a part of this team.

I started Making Miracles because I had been through a traumatic journey myself and with this personal experience I could see where the gaps in my emotional care were. I come from a solid background in Marketing, PR & Events Management so with these skills, alongside my own isolated journey I felt I could make a real difference.
Since 2014 (when I started the charity) I have worked with thousands of grieving families, I have received in-house training on the clinical side at Medway Hospital’s amazing Fetal Medicine Unit, I qualified as a BACP Counsellor in 2016, I have personally trained our amazing NHS staff around Baby Loss and how to deal with grieving parents and more recently launched the Podcast to help reach families all over the World. I am now approached and seen as a specialist in this field and I will continue to grow and learn new skills to ensure this reputation remains.
Making Miracles provides, in my opinion, the best baby trauma and bereavement care pathway to help the entire family through their individual journeys and we also, as team, are all experienced across trauma, high risk pregnancies, premature births and have suffered multiple losses first hand.
I am very passionate about making sure we bridge the gap I felt existed in 2013 and will always continue in my mission to make sure no parent ever feels as alone as I did. I have made it my aim in life to help make a positive difference to every parent’s journey throughout baby trauma and loss.

I first became part of Making Miracles at the very beginning, raising money and awareness for a Charity I’m very passionate about and that is very close to my heart. I have had my own personal losses and fertility issues and feel very lucky that I now have two gorgeous boys.

I have been part of the fundraising committee for 2 years organising events and raising money as I wanted to do anything I could to help a great Charity succeed in everything that they are trying to achieve. I am very proud and honoured that I am now part of the Making Miracles team as one of the Area Managers. I’m very much looking forward to making a difference and helping other families with the services that Making Miracles provide.

My journey started in 2010 where we got the news we were having a baby, but sadly the excitement soon turned into a nightmare. Being pregnant was a very stressful experience for us and that still breaks my heart. Both my gorgeous boys, Ollie and Jake where born very premature and with great sadness I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks.

We felt robbed from all the precious moments and experiences of being pregnant and having a baby. I considered myself lucky to have family and Matt around me; yet I was often left on my own gathering my thoughts with no-where to turn to and often questioned why this has happened to us.

My inspiration is to help mums and families that experience these traumatic times and try to make it a little easier; whether it’s showing support, helping to fundraise for equipment or just to share my experience and spread a bit of hope. I feel very privileged to have my boys with me and honoured to be a part of Making Miracles!

Hi all, I am Sally. Having spent 35 years working in local authorities, I retired from my last post as Director of Ofsted’s Inspection and Regulation contract for the early years foundation stage. Since then I have been heavily involved is establishing and supporting Kelly to develop Making Miracles, I have been Company Secretary and I am now Chairman.

I focus my work to apply for various funding opportunities and give strategic direction to both the team and the Board of Trustees.

Hi I am Pat. I am a HR professional and spent all of my career in the public sector in several government departments. Since retiring I have undertaken a range of voluntary work. A few year ago my grandson was sadly stillborn at 34 weeks and the shock reverberated through the whole family. I was pleased to volunteer with Making Miracles which is such a fantastic charity offering much needed support to families going through difficult pregnancies or loss. Following this I was privileged to be asked to become a Trustee to help support the amazing work that the team undertake especially as we move into wider areas within Kent. I have since become Deputy Chairman.

Hi my name is Sharon. My career spans three decades in the education sector, from child-minding and pre-school to classroom teaching and headship. I was a parent governor at a local primary school for four years. My latest role is in the private sector, working with an HR and Employment Law firm.

I have three grown up children, of whom I am extremely proud. I am also a member of Medway Sunlight Rotary Club and I very much enjoy the varied fundraising activities I am involved in.

Hi I am Linda. I contacted Making Miracles after the loss of my granddaughter Grace, who died shortly after birth. I had great support from Kelly and the team and decided to become a volunteer. I wanted to help with fundraising so that the charity could continue to help families going through high risk pregnancies and baby loss. When I retired from work as an administrator/book keeper I was able to give more time to the Making Miracles. I realise, because of the loss of Grace, how important the support Making Miracles gives is and, was honoured when I was asked to become a Trustee. My role now in Making Miracles is Finance Trustee and I am pleased to be able to do my part as we grow as a charity.

I became aware of Making Miracles after the sad loss of our son. Both myself and my wife received amazing care, that was full of compassion and empathy from all the staff we met through the grieving process. And then again with the support we received through the scary times of facing a pregnancy after loss.

I wanted to become a trustee for Making Miracles as a way of giving something back to the amazing charity that helped myself and my wife massively and we will be forever grateful.

Making Miracles work and vision is truly inspiring, helping families like myself through the most difficult, sad and daunting times I’ve ever had to experience.

I became aware of Making Miracles after the sad loss of our son. Both myself and my wife received amazing care, that was full of compassion and empathy from all the staff we met through the grieving process. The garden is very special to me, I was introduced to Making Miracles last year by a work colleague when we were looking for a local charity to support. The baby garden stood out for me as I miscarried when starting my family, and I found there was no where to go to reflect and just sit and breathe. I thought this was just perfect for local families having gone through loss. Not just the garden but every service and event Making Miracles offer is beneficial to our local families. I hope to be able to support for a long time.
