About Baby Loss Awareness Week (BLAW) 9th - 15th October 2026
Baby Loss Awareness Week is an opportunity to bring us together as a community
and give anyone touched by baby loss a safe and supportive space to share their experiences and feel that they are not alone.
1 in 4 pregnancies end in loss and families find themselves thrown into one of the most traumatic kinds of grief, and that’s where we come in.
Our umbrellas represent our families reality, they represent hope, they symbolise that grieving families are not alone and that
we help support and shelter them from the storm of baby loss.
Baby Loss Awareness Week is a beautiful time to come together to remember and be part of something truly special.
Visit Our Umbrella Display
When you arrive, you will be warmly welcomed by Team MM, who will be there to support you and help you find your heart in a peaceful environment.
There will be calming music playing, and you will have the opportunity to write a special message or name on one of our handwritten hearts,
or light a candle in memory of someone special.
Your handwritten heart can either be taken home with you or placed on the umbrellas around the lower level of the church.
You can then take a moment to sit, reflect and simply spend some quiet time remembering in a beautiful setting.
We will also have mini umbrellas, BLAW pin badges, candles and other memorial items available to purchase.
We look forward to welcoming you and sharing this special space with you.

Last year after my 4th loss, I visited the Umbrella Event, created our heart, read everyones else's then sat & cried. But, it felt better not to be crying alone. This is a really special event.
